See how you can help Cameron
Cameron Hudson was diagnosed at just 4 weeks old with Plagiocephaly which in Cameron’s case, it meant the right side of his head was flattened, pushing the right side of his face forward.
For the few weeks after his birth, his parents knew there was something wrong but were told time and time again there was nothing to worry about.
After being diagnosed, Cameron had his 1st Physio session in November 2010 when he was 15 weeks old. His parents had to change Cameron’s routine completely. They had done everything the Physio had told them to do and within two weeks Cameron’s head shape had changed dramatically, for the better. His forehead was going back to normal. His ear was coming back. His eyes perfect, and the side of his head didn’t look as flat. Finally they had a positive change. However, the back of his head is now completely flat.
Cameron now has Brachycephly and is in need of a helmet to correct his head to a normal shape.
The helmet isn’t available on the NHS, as the condition is classed as cosmetic. This is unfair as leaving Cameron’s head this shape can and will affect him both physically and mentally in his life.
As to correct it then would mean a very serious operation which would involve breaking and remoulding his skull. This operation is obviously very serious and we want to help in any way we can to avoid this from happening later in Cameron’s life.
Cameron’s family are holding many fundraising events to raise money for his helmet. It costs £2000 and they have already raised the £500.00 for the deposit so we want to help with the rest to get the helmet as soon as possible.
